My own feeling, despite being a bit of a gadget geek, is that if I'm looking for a keyboard then I'm not looking for a phone. I'm happy enough to use the T9 equivalent on my phone (Motorola E770v) if I want to shoot off a short email, but I won't be writing epics on my phone - at the very least I'd use a PDA for that!
