I can run PuttySSH on it, it handles GMail with aplomb, and I get pretty good battery life. I have had no problem roaming on 850MHz networks (T-Mobile up in the Berkshires is pretty suck, and Cingular 850 works great) with this fone. However, the built-in browser is pretty lousy, crashing all the damn time, use Opera Mobile instead. I say if you can afford one, go for it, but frankly the iPhone is pretty tempting.. They'll gladly send your phone an SMS to auto-configure it for GPRS/EDGE/MMS.
