Unfortunately, it may simply be due to age. Taste buds do not work as well as one ages...I personally miss the absolute-craving and could-not-stop-eating of a certain chocolate chip cookie recipe when I was young. I can still taste it. Still smell it. Still crave it. I have the recipe. It simply no longer works, no matter what brands/types of ingredients are used. Fortunately, there is alcohol to dull the sorrow of reduced senses.

Do keep writing, we have missed you. Twitter bad. Blogging good.

The first glass of merlot I ever had (no I was not a child, but it was still a long time ago) tasted exactly the way the song Helter-Skelter sounds. All the merlot I've had since has just been another glass of red wine.

Glad to have you back from the Slough of Twitter. Do keep visiting the world of multi-sentence blogging from time to time, we enjoy it.

"I am writing, a lot." that's very good.

Frankfurts from the butcher shop in Eastwood 1970, a taste I've been looking for in every frankfurt since they closed.

Ahh, childhood memories. For years and years my younger brothers and sisters used to call me pickle, due to my love of pickles! They also love the wordplay of calling me mickle the pickle :-)

Here's yet another recipe for you to try:

<a href="http://www.allthepages.org/wp/archives/2005/08/bread-and-butter-pickle-recipe.html" rel="nofollow">http://www.allthepages.org/wp/archives/2005/08/bread-and-butter-pickle-recipe.html</a>

I understand completely. I'm still searching for my mother's long-lost brownie recipe that she made when I was a kid. It was lost when she died.
