You'd just clear a space for another to move it. Since I don't recall California being a big hunting state, I imagine the deer population is out of control anyway. Of course, if you ate deer, you'd be all set. Skinning a deer is not for the faint of heart or weak of stomach. Unless you're very good, you'll puncture the gut, and probably hurl. And.. um... mutton is sheep. Venison is deer. Shooting it wouldn’t have helped, anyway. You’d just clear a space for another to move it.
