23.Feb.06 :: I cannot believe that this is a real word
..and that it doesn't at all mean what it sounds like it should mean.
crapulousa literary word meaning 'relating to drunkenness or the drinking of alcohol.' Like the related adjective crapulent and noun crapulence, it comes from a Latin word meaning 'inebriation,' itself based on a Greek word meaning 'drunken headache.'
(I got it from Erin's Weird and Wonderful Word of the Day, via Oxford University Press)
